About

I am Nalaka Daundaratne, a 31-years-old single mother of two wonderful children from Southern California, US. I started this challenging journey of a single mother almost a year and a half ago with tears, depression and panic attacks. However, part of me, fought back these devastating emotions and grief by trying to find help, strength and knowledge I really needed to recover. Then, I reached out for all the support I can get from the social system, community, read text books and worked on finding my way through the crisis I was in. Finally, I feel like I have passed the phases of grief, no more feeling of vulnerability and have gained happiness and strength to face the future as the strong woman we all have inside us.

This web space is dedicated to support women like me to feel that they are not alone and we can do this better than we imagine. Thank you!
